Human Growthhormone (GH) is a single chain, non-glycated, 191 amino acid hydrophilic globulin with a molecular weight of 21700Da and an isoelectric pI of 4.9. The cysteine residues at sites 53 and 165 and 182 and 189 are connected by disulfide bonds. About 75% of the growth hormone secreted by the anterior pituitary gland eosinophils is secreted in this form of molecular structure, and another 5% to 10% is secreted in the form of molecular weight 20kDa. The spontaneous secretion of hGH occurs in paroxysmal form throughout the day and night, generally occurring in the first slow wave sleep period (SWS) after physiological sleep. During the day, the rest seemed to promote the release of hGH. Eating, fasting, exercise and stress could affect the secretion form of hGH, but did not change its basic rhythm. The secretion amplitude of hGH in adolescence is high, the frequency is fast, and the total secretion of HGH is large during the day and night, while the elderly are on the contrary.
